Members of the Mess have been playing together since 2016. Jess, Mike, & Ura were playing together in a band at the same time Jess, Mike, & Pat were playing together in another band. Unfortunately, in January of 2021, the fourth member of that band suddenly passed away. We all loved playing together and wanted to keep the music alive through the untimely death of our bandmate. We brought in Ura, who we had been playing with in the other project, and the Mess was born.

 

At our first show as this particular lineup, we still didn't have a name. We threw a few out to the crowd and when Pat said "Jess & the Mess" the cheers erupted. Though we are all seasoned performers who take pride in our professional production, we also don't take ourselves too seriously to call ourselves the Mess.
